Can You Keep a Secret?

Victorian children’s author Mark Carthew will be visiting Tamborine Mountain this Sunday June 28th to celebrate the launch of his latest book “Can You Keep a Secret”.
Mark is an award winning editor, author, teacher, musician and sessional lecturer, well known for his books and presentations exploring wordplay, poetry, music, movement and drama. He is in Queensland to present papers at the Early Childhood Teachers Association of Queensland Conference and has taken time out of his hectic program to visit Tamborine Mountain.
Many children and adults will remember Mark and the launch of his last book “The Gobbling Tree” at Marks & Gardner Gallery, Secret Garden in 2008.
Can You Keep a Secret? is a collection of much loved and treasured children’s rhymes and poetry and in its sensational soft cover it is a treasure to keep for generations. For a short time only an additional free music CD is included. This includes playtime rhymes, finger plays, action rhymes, counting and nursery rhymes and lullabies by Mark. It is a Children’s Book Council of Australia Early Childhood Notable Book for 2009.
We hope you can join us for an afternoon of fun and activities. The book will be launched by Leonie Tyle, Children’s and Young Adults Publisher for Woolshed Press, Random House Australia and will be followed by a presentation by Mark. Mark’s presentations are always entertaining, with a strong literature base, they include fingers plays, music and action rhymes for his younger audiences. Games and activities for children in our 5 acre paddock will follow.
